let's get to know each other
Hi, my name is Sindija Tabaka
My journey into photography started with my love for birth. I spent nearly ten years working as a doula, learning how to support families and recognize those little moments that often go unnoticed.
Eye contact, hand holding, a hug and so on. Today, I bring that experience into the birth room with my camera, quietly capturing the emotions, connections and everything in between.
But birth photography is only part of what I am doing.
I also love photographing growing bellies, newborns in the comfort of your own homes, couples and families. Especially first days with a newborn , the tiny details and sleepy cuddles .
What is it like to have a photoshoot with me?
Pretty relaxed, actually! I’ll guide you when you need it, suggest poses, remind you to breathe and help you feel comfortable in front of the camera.
And although I’ve photographed plenty of families, no two sessions ever turn out the same. Every couple, family and newborn is different, and that’s what I love about it. We meet, get to know each other a little, and take it from there. Nothing too stiff or complicated.
A little more about me
I’ve called Iceland home since 2012, and its nature still amazes me. I especially love the long summer evenings, when daylight seems endless and there’s always time for another little adventure. It’s my favourite time of year to explore Iceland, and honestly, I rarely feel the need to travel abroad during summer.
Winter has its own charm, though. Beautiful sunsets in every shade of pink, orange and purple, northern lights, and, if we’re lucky, a little snow that makes the landscapes look completely different.
Outside photography, I enjoy riding motorcycles during the warmer months, spending time outdoors and baking something homemade for my family.
I also genuinely enjoy meeting new people, especially travelers visiting Iceland. I love hearing where they come from, what brought them here and what they’ve discovered along the way.
